DROP OFF-FIRST DAY ONLY:
Parents may walk students to class between 7:15 and 8:00 AM using Door 1 (Main entrance) and Door 2 (Playground entrance).
Daily Drop Off (Rest of the Year)
Car Riders: Drop-off at Door 2 (Playground entrance). Staff members will be available to assist students by opening car doors during morning arrival to ensure a safe and efficient drop-off process.
Students in ECSE: Drop-off at Door 8 (East side of building)
Daily Pick Up (Rest of the Year)
Car Riders: Pick-up at Door 2 (Playground entrance). Students will be escorted to their vehicles and assisted into the car during dismissal to ensure a safe and smooth pick-up process.

Daily Transportation Changes
Bus changes:
All bus changes must be directed to the Transportation Department by phone at 281-592-0377, or by email at transportation@tarkingtonisd.net by 2:30 p.m. They will be able to verify if students are registered to ride the bus. Once their information is verified, they will send out a notice to the campus and bus driver. Additionally, please review the Transportation Procedures below.
- The State of Texas has determined a child will have only one permanent address for pick-up/drop-off and the same pick-up/drop-off location every day of the week. This can be found in our Student Handbook on page 120. Students must be registered with the Transportation Department prior to riding the bus via their Google Form that can be found on the Tarkington ISD website under the Transportation Department.
- Students are not allowed to ride home with other students.
- Students are not allowed to get off at any stop other than their designated stop.
- Students are not allowed to ride more than one bus unless we have court documents on file showing shared custody.
Car Rider Changes:
Car rider changes must be made before 2:30 pm by calling the front office.
All students leaving early must be picked up by 3:00 p.m.

6:00 - 7:30 PM ~ Meet the Teacher Night/schedule pickup. (Student schedule changes - if students need to make schedule changes, a table will be available at meet the teacher night for parents to complete a schedule change form. A schedule change can also be completed the first two days of school with the campus counselor. Only schedule changes related to elective/course choice will be executed)

Student Drop Off & Pick Up Procedures
1. Student drop-off and pick-up takes place on the Bus Barn side of the Middle School building at the sidewalk that leads to the front of the Middle School. In case of inclement weather, drop-off and pick-up will be at the covered sidewalk by the Band Hall doors.
2. Please remain in line with the other vehicles. All students must be dropped off at the sidewalk. For safety reasons, students will not be allowed to walk across the parking lot in front of traffic. Do not drop off or pick up students in the Teacher Parking Lot or in the Bus Line (Circle Drive) during drop-off and pick-up times.

Please make sure ALL bus/car rider changes are received by the front office by 2:30 pm each day.

To ensure your student is able to ride the bus home on the first day of school, they must be registered by Friday, August 1st.
Students registered after August 1st will not be eligible to ride the bus home until Monday, August 11th.

Returning student registration is now open in the Parent Portal.
To complete registration, please ensure:
- Your student is linked to your Parent Portal account
- You are listed as the parent/guardian
- Your email address in Parent Portal matches what we have in our student records
ALL STUDENTS MUST TURN IN A NEW PROOF OF RESIDENCE.
Acceptable documents include:
- Water bill, electric bill, cable/satellite/internet bill, or current lease agreement
- Documents must be current, NOT a disconnect notice, and must show the parent/guardian’s name and service address.
- If you don’t have a utility in your name, a Parent and Landowner Affidavit can be completed.

RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION AND PROOF OF RESIDENCY MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE A STUDENT WILL RECEIVE THEIR HOMEROOM ASSIGNMENT OR SCHEDULE.
