Curriculum & Instruction

The purpose of the Tarkington ISD of Curriculum & Instruction Department is to provide leadership, service and support to our staff, parents and community. Our goal is to focus the educational environment, practices and programs of the district on effective student learning to ensure each student has the best opportunities to become a successful member of society.

The State Board of Education issued a proclamation that includes the adoption of new science textbooks and instructional materials available to students in the 2024-25 school year to complement the implementation of new science TEKS.  TISD has a District Textbook Adoption Committee that includes campus leadership teams, science department leaders, curriculum leaders, and teachers that have been reviewing the state-adopted instructional materials being considered for K-12 science classes.  We are inviting TISD community members to review the finalists being considered for adoption.  Below you will find a list of the materials, along with the links for review to those materials under consideration.

K-12 Science Instructional Materials Resource Previews

Hard copies of materials being considered by the district are available for review on Wednesday, April 3rd from 9am – 6pm at the administration building at 72 CR 2268, Cleveland, Texas  77327.
