Our Longhorn Mascot has a Name
We are thrilled to announce that the votes are in, and the name chosen by our community, staff, and students for our new Tarkington Longhorn mascot is… “Tex!”
Tex will make his first official appearance at the Tarkington Student Foundation’s 22nd Annual Round Up on October 4, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. We invite everyone to come out, enjoy the fun, and meet Tex in person as we celebrate this exciting addition to our Longhorn family!
Tex will also make appearances at non-UIL district events throughout the year, bringing energy, school spirit, and plenty of smiles wherever he goes. He’s sure to strengthen the bond between students, staff, and the community while becoming a lovable symbol of Longhorn pride.
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Rollins for graciously purchasing and raising Tex. Her generosity and dedication make it possible for Tex to become an unforgettable part of our Tarkington ISD story.
Get ready to see Tex at future school events, celebrations, and community gatherings. He’s here to cheer us on as we continue to Strive, Thrive, and Achieve together!
